Thursday August 30 Ketchikan

Went for walk to see totem poles all around the town. The rode in a floatplane. It was amazing taking off the water and landing. So smooth. Dave got out and stood on the raft floaters when we landed in punchbowl lake.this is a rain forest area. Lots of moss growing even on roofs. Rainiest town in USA. But we were fortunate to have a sunny day. Saw salmon swimming up stream.

Wednesday August 29 Juneau

Embarked ship to take helicopter ride and land on glacier. Had to have gripper boots. Helicopter rider so smooth. Went to red dog saloon. Saw fish being taken up fish ladder. They were flipping and flopping .

Tuesday August 28. Skagway

Took van tour to British Columbia and Yukon. First part was train ride and then met by van. Saw tree where a camper had hung food from bears and we saw the claw marks where bear got the food. Took dog " sleigh" ride with nine huskies pulling us. Dogs love to run. Calm and quiet until they start hooking up dogs then all start yapping like pick me pick me. Ate BBQ chicken dinner at dog place. Made up like old town and wagons you can eat in.

Monday August 27 Glacier Bay

Glacier bay on diamond princess saw some calving of icebergs. Enjoying our first time cruise by discovering the ship. Saw some shows.
